			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="top" />Join GCLFEDS for a presentation by the Texas Center for the Missing on keeping your child safe.  The program will begin with a puppet show geared to children under 10 years old.  It features Detective Buddy who teaches Billy and his friend Barb how to stay safe with real-life examples.  The puppet show will be followed by a presentation designed to teach parents how to keep children safe from abduction and internet lures.</p>
<p>The Texas Center for the Missing is a nonprofit organization which administers the Houston Amber Alert System, provides education and training to the community, and offers help and hope to the missing and their families.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="top" />Joanie Garro, MA, BCBA, CT, will present &#8220;Lights, Camera, Action&#8221;:  An evidence based practice using scripting, acting, video modeling, and role playing to teach social skills.&#8221;    Ms. Garro has worked with individuals with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities for over 23 years.  She is a board certified behavior analyst and certified special educator currently in private practice.  She is the creator and director of Film Club - an inclusive social skills training program and  has developed a video modeling intervention program using  video recording to teach positive behaviors. Video modeling interventions involve a child watching recordings of positive examples of adults, peers, or him or herself engaging in a behavior that is being taught.  Learn more about this effective technique for teaching positive behaviors and skills.</p>
